Notes:

1.     JAY was an ex Lt in the DCLI, and appointed to be temporary Captain as Second-in-Command of 9th (Service) Battalion DCLI on 19th October 1914 and promoted to Major on 18th November 1914.   He relinquished his temporary commission on 21st October 1915.

         He took his own life in a hotel in London.

2.     KENDALL was commissioned into the DCLI on 28th August 1915 and served with 2nd Battalion in Salonika, where he was wounded.   He was granted a transfer to the RNAS on 14th January 1917.   He was serving with 6th Sqn RNAS when he was KIAA.

3.    JESSUP died of influenza/pneumonia at the Templeton House Hospital, Putney.   He previously commanded a Trench Mortar Battery prior to relinquishing his commission on 14th June 1918 due to ill health caused by wounds.

4.    PILGRIM died of influenza/pneumonia.   He saw active service with 6th Battalion and relinquished his commission on 25th July 1917 due to ill health.

5.    CHURCH saw active service with 2nd Battalion and was posted to 3rd (Reserve) Battalion in July 1916.
