Notes: 1. WATKINS was wounded by a German sniper near Ploegsteert Wood on 15th January 1915. 2. HILLIER was wounded near Ploegsteert Wood on 21st February 1915. 3. BAKER was killed at Frezenberg Ridge on 8th May 1915 though the CWGC incorrectly records his date of death as 12th May 1915. It was not until 1923 that his remains were found and he was buried at Poelcapelle British Cemetery. 4. EDWARDS was killed and buried near Frezenberg Ridge, at Witte Poert Farm, on 8th May 1915 and it was not until late 1919 that his remains were found and he was buried at New Irish Farm Cemetery, near Ypres. 5. GARDNER was killed and buried near Frezenberg Ridge on 8th May 1915 and it was not until 1926 that his remains were found and buried at Oosttaverne Wood Cemetery, Wytschaete. 6. SORBY was wounded at Frezenberg Ridge on 8th May 1915. 7. WILLIAMS was wounded northeast of Ypres on 5th May 1915. 8. NEWLAND was wounded and taken POW by the Germans at Frezenberg Ridge on 8th May 1915. 9. WIDOWFIELD was wounded at Hohenzollern Redoubt, Loos on 13th October 1915. 10. DIMSDALE was detached from the Rifle Brigade. 11. LEWIS was detached from the South Wales Borderers. |
