Notes: 1. KENNEDY was originally buried in a battlefield grave on "Winchester Road" west of Fauquissart and reburied in Aubers Ridge Cemetery in January 1925. 2. FOSTER, SPURWAY and THOMPSON were lost at sea aboard HMT Royal Edward which was torpedoed by the German submarine U-41 near the island of Kandelioussa, Aegean Sea. 3. NEWTON was on observer training and was killed when his aircraft, a BE2c, nosedived into the ground soon after take-off. 2Lt A T Tallentire was also killed in the accident. 4. STEER was wounded near Givenchy on 25th November 1915. 5. REED died of pneumonia at a Military Hospital in Cairo and was attached to 67th Squadron Royal Flying Corps. 6. LALONDE died of ? 7. PROWSE was wounded at Beaumont Hamel on 1st July 1916. 8. COOK was originally buried in a battlefield grave to the south of High Wood and reburied in Aveluy Cemetery in May 1923. 9. STEAD was originally buried in a battlefield grave on "Telegraph Ridge", to the east of Beaurains and reburied in Tilloy British Cemetery in August 1919. 10. SAMUDA was mortally wounded by a shell near Messines on 1st July 1917. 11. STRONG was serving with 80th Trench Mortar Battery at the time of his death. He was originally buried in Stravros Cemetery and was reburied at Kalamaria in September 1921. 12. CRISP was originally buried in a battlefield grave to the south east of "Galwitz Farm" near Pilckem and reburied in Artillery Wood Cemetery in August 1919. 13. RAWLING was a former CO of 6th Bn Somerset LI. 14. PRICE was wounded at ? on ? 15. BISSET was wounded at ? on ? 16. HOSEGOOD died of ? 17. HAYNES was wounded near Solesmes on 1st October 1918. . 18. GRAVES-KNYFTON died of influenza/pneumonia. 19. SADLEIR (who served as SADLIER) took his own life as described in his War Office personal File (WO 374/60074). 20. FOX died of influenza/pneumonia in Ruse (Rustchuk) and buried in the Military Cemetery there until 1960 when all burials at this cemetery were removed to Sofia War Cemetery. 20. DICKINSON died of influenza/pneumonia in Tanzania (Tanganyika). 21. WATSON died of influenza/pneumonia. 22. DALLAS is buried in the Obozerskaya Burial Ground but commemorated by a Special Memorial at the Archangel Allied Cemetery. 24. BRADFIELD was killed during an uprising of Arab rebels. |
