Notes: 1. HORE was wounded at "Little Willie", Hohenzollern Redoubt, on 1st October 1915. 2. SYKES-BANKS died of ? at Dieppe. 3. DUNN was wounded at Ypres by shellfire on 25th March 1916. 4. HEDDING was wounded at Cuinchy on 27th March 1916. 5. GAIR was wounded at Bretencourt on 13th May 1918. 6. HARVEY was wounded at Vimy Ridge on 23rd May 1916. 7. FORMAN was incorrectly registered by the CWGC as a member of the Devonshire Regiment, and therefore inscribed on Panel 1C instead of Panel 7B on the Thiepval Memorial. CWGC have been advised of this error. 8. WILLES died of ? 9. CLIFT was wounded at High Wood, Somme on 20th July 1916. 10. HALL was wounded in aerial action on 22nd September 1916 due to AA fire. His observer took over control of aircraft and landed it. He was originally buried in a battlefield grave southwest of Villers Outreaux and reburied in January 1921. 11. CHERRY was originally buried in a battlefield grave northeast of Neuville Vitasse and was re-buried in Wancourt British Cemetery in August 1919. 12. POWELL died suddenly on a train near his home at Dorchester. He was a Company Commander at the Royal Military College Sandhurst at the time. 13. STOCK was wounded near Arras on 3rd May 1917. 14. SMITH was accidentally drowned. 15. D'ERF-WHEELER was killed during a training flight at Yatesbury No 2 Aerodrome when his aircraft, RE8 Serial A4673, stalled during a turn and crashed into the ground. 16. PALMER was originally buried in a battlefield grave near Shrewsbury Wood, east of Ypres, and was re-buried in Hooge Crater Cemetery in September 1919. 17. MALPAS was wounded at ? on ? 18. BEAUCHAMP was wounded at ? on ? 19. MUSPRATT was posted to the General List, for duty with the RFC, at the time of his death. 20. WOOLNOUGH was originally buried in a battlefield grave in the area of Flamicourt to the south west of St Quentin and reburied in Ham British Cemetery in September 1919. 21. KESTELL-CORNISH was wounded at Houlthulst Forest, Belgium, on 8th May 1918 and was an in-patient at No 8 Stationary Hospital, Wimereux, for over three months, including an amputation of the leg. 22. GORE-BROWN was drowned with many others of the KAR during a withdrawal whilst engaged in action with German colonial forces at Nhamacurra, Mozambique. 23. JENKS was wounded at ? on ? 24. NORTHCOTT was wounded near Landrecies on 10th October 1918. 25. MANN died of enteric fever and cerebral thrombosis. 26. ROSE died of appendicitis. 27. GOODE transferred to the RAF on 3rd October 1918. He had previously seen active service with 2nd Battalion. He died of pnuemonia. |
