Notes: 1. GALLIE died of pneumonia at the Regimental Depot, Dorsetshire Regiment, Dorchester. 2. HUNTER died of illness at Sandown. He retired from the Army due to ill health on 17th September 1916 an was awarded a Silver War Badge. 3. BURTON retired from the Army on 20th May 1916 due to ill health. He is buried in St Helier (Almorah) Cemetery, St Helier. It was not until 2013 that his death and grave were added to the Debt of Honour register at the CWGC. 4. TUGWELL died of illness or wounds contracted in Sierra Leone whilst seconded to HQ WAFF in 1915/1916. 5. JOHNSON relinquished commission on 16th February 1918 due to ill health caused by wounds. Previous active service with 6th Battalion. Died of influenza/pneumonia. 6. GOODY was demobilised in early 1919 and took up his profession as a school teacher. He accidentally drowned off Preston Road Beach, Weymouth. Not commemorated by the CWGC. 6. GOLLOP was previously Officer Commanding 262nd Protection Company Royal Defence Corps. He retired from the Army due to ill health on 22nd September 1916 an was awarded the Silver War Badge. 7. VERNON was previously attached to the War Office (Anti-Gas Committe). He relinquished his commission in the Dorsetshire Regiment on 1st April 1920 on completion of service. Not commemorated by the CWGC. 8. FILLEUL resigned his commission in the Dorsetshire Regiment on 17th April 1920. He is not commemorated by the CWGC. |
