Lieutenant.   Royal Sussex Regiment attached to 2nd Battalion.   Killed in action in Belgium on 3rd November 1944.   Buried in Geel War Cemetery, Belgium.   Aged 20.

 

BUTTERWORTH, Francis Wyndham Arthur

Lieutenant Colonel, DSO, MBE.  West Yorkshire Regiment (Prince of Wales's Own) commanding 2nd Battalion.   Died of wounds in Holland on 6th November 1944.   Buried in Bergen-Op-Zoom War Cemetery, Holland.   Aged 37.

 

COTTLE, Harold Edgar

Lieutenant.   Wiltshire Regiment attached to 10th Battalion.   Died in India on 11th July 1945.   Buried in Ranchi War Cemetery, India.   Aged 29.

 

GARDINER, Thomas William

Lieutenant.   King's Own Royal Regiment (Lancaster) attached to 10th Battalion.   Killed in action in Burma on 16th December 1944.   Buried in Taukkyan War Cemetery, Burma.   Aged 30.

Captain.   RAMC attached to 10th Battalion.   Killed in action in Burma on 23rd November 1944.   Buried in Taukkyan War Cemetery, Burma.   Aged 44.

 

HOPPER, John Oliver

Makor, MiD.   Artist's Rifles attached to 2nd Battalion.   Killed in action in France on 30th July 1944.   Buried in Hottot-les-Bagues War Cemetery, France.   Aged 32.

Lieutenant.   Royal Canadian Infantry Corps attached to 2nd Battalion.   Killed in action in France on 2nd July 1944.   Buried in Hottet-les-Bagues War Cemetery, France.   Aged 23.

Captain.  Dorsetshire Regiment attached to 10th Battalion.  Died of wounds in India on 25th May 1945.  Buried in Chittagong War Cemetery, now Bangladesh.   Aged 32.

Captain.  Royal Canadian Infantry Corps attached to 2nd Battalion.   Killed in action in France on 10th December 1944.   Buried in Groesbeek Canadian War Cemetery, France.   Aged 29.

 

RIDDEL, William Lauder

Captain, MiD.  King's Own Yorkshire Light Infantry attached to 10th Battalion.   Died of wounds in India on 17th May 1945.   Buried in Delhi War Cemetery, India.   Aged 24.

 

ROBERTS, John James

Lieutenant. MiD.   King's Own Royal Regiment (Lancaster) attached to 10th Battalion.   Killed in action in Burma on 15th February 1945.   Buried in Taukkyan War Cemetery, Burma.   Aged 23.
