1.   Those numbers marked with a "p" in the Notes column refers to the page in "The History of the South Wales Borderers 1914 - 1918" by C T Atkinson where the death of the officer is mentioned or indicated.

2.   SPARROW was wounded in the Laventie area on 22nd December 1914.

3.   SALT was wounded at Neuve Chapelle on 15th March, serving as a Private soldier with 3rd Bn Monmouth Regt, awaiting return to UK to take up commission in SWB.   Commissioned 9th March 1915 and Gazetted (Third Supplement to LG 29130) 14th April 1915.

4.   JENKINS was returning to the RFC Aerodrome near Villers Bocage and was wounded after his aircraft was attacked by a German Fokker close to the Aerodrome.   Originally buried in Villers Bocage Communal Cemetery then re-interred at Terlincthun in 1962.

5.   ALLAWAY was accidentally killed during bombing training at Cairo on 29th June 1916.

6.   KIRK was wounded at Romani, Sinai Peninsula, on 4th August 1916.

7.   WOOD was wounded at Delville Wood, Somme on 24th August 1916

8.   MORGAN R C W was shot down and wounded in aerial combat near Hoogstade on 27th July 1917.

9.   REID was wounded at Broombeck, near Langemarck on 16th August 1917.

10. REES was wounded at Gaza on 7th November 1917.

11. MORRIS was wounded near Gaza on 30th November 1917.

12. OXLEY was wounded near Wytschaete on 16th April 1918.

13. DAVID was wounded near Gouzeaucourt but died before reaching a dressing station.   Originally buried where he died but his body was exhumed in July 1919 and he was re-buried at Gouzeaucourt New British Cemetery.

14. TOWLER was shot down and killed, with Lt Ripley, over Saarbrucken.   110th Sqn RAF was part of the Independent Air Force, engaged in the bombing offensive against Germany.

15. BURMESTER was wounded near Pontruet on 5th October 1918.

16. SCOTT was wounded near Villers Outreaux on 8th October 1918.

17. WARD was wounded south east of Ypres on 8th October 1918.

18. TALBOT died of pneumonia/influenza whilst attached to HQ East Africa Force.   His parent unit was the Brecknockshire Battalion.
